Greetings!
Welcome to the December edition of the Carrier Logistics newsletter,
Trucking with CLI. As we close out another solid year, we are pleased to
say that in 2007 we added to our list of satisfied clients while
continuing to protect the investment in technology of our long-time
customers with upgraded software and additional functionality. In fact, an
article below describes new functionality that we've recently added to our
Web module.
CLI began the year with a complete redesign of our website
(www.carrierlogistics.com), making it easier for both customers and
prospects to find information. In April, we broke a previous record for
attendance at our Annual User Group meeting, which featured the addition
of small group labs on various components of the system. This past Fall we
held another successful Leadership Summit (open to all transportation
executives), the highlight of which was the keynote by James Welch, former
CEO of Yellow Transportation, who captivated the crowd. (Congratulations
to Glen Merkel of Davis Cartage who won the $50 gift card for filling out
the targeted post-meeting survey.) On December 12th of this year CLI
celebrated 35 years in business, a milestone we are proud of. We closed
out the year with a well-attended Webinar on "Return on Investment."
Please see the article below for a recap of the presentation.
Also in this issue you'll find an article on a new CLI offering,
FACTS-ondemand, a subscription-based version of the total freight
management system, as well as an article on the upcoming Distribution
& LTL Carriers Association meeting in February, an announcement
regarding the new ATA Technology Council, an informative Tip of the Month,
and a personnel news update.
I'd like to recognize a few customers who had big events occur this
past year. Congratulations to Bilkay's Express and its owners, the
Kortenhaus family, on celebrating 75 years in business. The Elizabeth,
NJ-based carrier has a thriving distribution and warehousing business as
well. And across the pond, CLI's largest United Kingdom customer, ANC,
officially became FedEx UK after being acquired by the transportation
giant at the end of last year. CLI will continue to support and develop
new functionality for this longtime customer.
Finally, CLI would like to sincerely thank all of our customers and
partners for helping to make 2007 a good one for us. Enjoy the holiday
season and best wishes for a happy and healthy 2008.

New Web Reporting Functionality Unveiled |
 |
| Online detailed shipment reports are now
available through the CLI Web module. It is now very simple to
quickly create customizable reports through this easy-to-use
functionality. You can select what information you would like to
include in your reports choosing from over 30 fields of data -
everything from PO number to shipper zip to on time to total charges
can be included for shipments made in a date range you choose. Once
you've made your selections, you simply click "Run Report" and the
data is immediately presented in a user-friendly format.
The reports, which can be saved, also can be sorted by each of
the fields you've chosen. At the bottom of the report is a summary
box with totals for the chosen date range. Finally every report can
be exported to Microsoft Excel for distribution or further
dissection. Detailed shipment reports - another example of CLI
technology making your job easier.

members, developing industry best practices and technology
guidelines and providing legislative and regulatory advocacy
programs.
The ITLC named Braxton Vick (pictured left) as its first chair.

Webinar on ROI a Success |
 |
On December 12, numerous participants
attended a Webinar sponsored by CLI. Jeff Keller, principal, Keller
Associates, discussed how to maximize return on investment (ROI).
Noting that 40% of all IT projects fail, Jeff outlined how to
successfully manage a project to increase your ROI.
Jeff stressed that good management yields success. He revealed
his "Top Ten List to Maximize Return on Investment" which detailed
crucial components and considerations that must be made during the
implementation process. By following these steps and guidelines, you
increase your chance of a successful project implementation which
hastens a company's return on investment.
Because of the excellent response to the Webinar and to the
presentation itself, CLI will plan to hold more of these educational
programs in 2008. Look for future e-mails regarding these events.

The CLI Annual User Group Conference
will be held on April 3 and 4 at the Crowne Plaza in downtown White
Plains, NY. Attendees will learn from both CLI experts and business

opportunities to meet one-on-one with CLI staff, so that customers
can get answers to their most pressing needs and questions. The
program continues through noon on Friday so that participants can
either enjoy their afternoon in the New York City area or head back
for their flights home. This program will be very interactive and
attendees should be prepared to participate.
There is no fee to attend this event. Because CLI feels so
