| America & Europe News: Carrier Logistics develops new track & trace system Carrier Logistics has built a comprehensive track and trace computer system for ANC Express. The new system - called FOCUS – is in the final stages of testing before its implementation across ANC’s national network. (1/12/2005) The system gives shippers early warning of traffic conditions that may delay premium time-sensitive deliveries, enabling proactive remedial action. Route planning and prioritising premium-timed deliveries can take place hours earlier, and complete knowledge of the status of all shipments across the network will allow every depot to respond efficiently. The Collection Wizard feature enables ANC to more easily collect charges that are reversed or billed to a third party, normally a big problem for most express carriers. The system will run on the Progress OpenEdge platform, chosen for its reliability, its advanced open architecture and flexible, non-proprietary web-enabled software. |
